Whether they're new to acting or looking to build on their existing skills, our summer workshops offer the perfect opportunity to grow and succeed. Don’t miss out on this chance to learn from professionals, make new friends, and take acting to the next level!
Our Summer Workshop is led by casting assistants & actors, Annalise Bradshaw & Sherelle Armstrong.
Day 1: Building the Foundation!
Join us on the first day for an exciting introduction to the world of acting! We'll kick things off with fun, interactive games designed to break the ice and build confidence both individually and as an ensemble. These games are crafted to help young people find their voice, express themselves, and connect with fellow participants. We will then begin working on scripts and characters that they'll develop throughout the workshop. Through exploration and creative exercises, they'll delve into their character's backstory, environment, given circumstances, and objectives. Together, we will create characters grounded in truth, authenticity and bring them to life.
Day 2: Nailing the Audition!
Day two is all about preparing and learning to take on auditions with our casting workshop. Young actors will get first-hand experience with different types of auditions, receive valuable feedback, and leave feeling empowered and prepared for future opportunities. This day is focused on learning new skills, interpreting scripts and building the confidence to shine in any audition room.
Our casting workshop is designed to demystify auditions and give young people the tools and confidence they need to succeed. By the end of the day, students will have a deeper understanding of how the audition process works, taking direction, and making strong, confident choices that will set them apart.
Day 3: Lights, Camera, Action!
On the third day, we shift our focus to acting for the camera. This is their chance to get a glimpse into what it's like to perform on a professional set. Students learn the nuances of acting for film and television, where they'll discover techniques for working within the frame, conveying emotion naturally and effectively for the camera. More importantly - our young actors even get to watch their performances on a TV screen and keep the final cut!
